The 'Single Survey' for Scotland

Anyone who has not yet heard of the Single Survey and is a property owner or a potential buyer should be made well aware of what is about to happen at the end of 2008.

The so called ’Single Survey’ is about to be imposed upon us in Scotland by the Scottish government, which will mean that the homeowner will be responsible for obtaining and paying for a full survey on their property. You could be forgiven for thinking that this will be a good thing as the potential buyer can use this survey and therefore has no need to obtain one of their own. However, you would be wrong as their are many important reasons why the buyer, in the vast majority of cases, will still have to obtain and pay for their own survey.

This misleading, and wrongly named 'Single Survey' will be a costly and unnecessary peice of legislation and many professions in Scotland have voiced their disapproval. If you wish to discuss this article , including the reasons why this will not be a single survey as the name implies, then please telephone 01389 721200.
